Happy Father's Day

Honor thy Father and Mother.

Today we take the time to honor our fathers, stepfathers, foster-fathers, and as David reminded me our priests and our heavenly Father. Each of us has been shaped by our parents guidance and teaching. This day reminds us how important these men are in our lives. Take a moment and remember them in prayer today.

Saint Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary, you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness. But amid the worries of material life, your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God's Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over Him faithfully as you have done. Amen. (Pope John XXIII)

Dear Daddy,

Today I cannot give you a card nor can I give you a hug. But I can thank you for each memory you’ve given me, for the courage you’ve taught me, and the knowledge you left me. I can pass these things on to all whom I met, that each person may share in my memories of you. I know I’m a working girl as you say but in my heart I’ll always be your little girl and you’ll always be my daddy. So please say a prayer for your girls today, that God might give us a sense of you with us, and that we may honor you both in all we do and say.

Thank you God, our Father for the cross, and the forgiveness of sins.
